SEEDING A CARBON-NEGATIVE FUTURE

Seagrown has big ambition – and even greater potential. In the clean, open waters of the North Sea, Seagrown is developing the UK’s first large-scale offshore seaweed farm. Part of an exciting new marine industry that will supply bulk bio-mass, biofuels and biodegradable plastics, as well as nutrient-rich superfoods to the world.

OUR BRIEF

Targeting like-minded consumers, businesses, and investors, Seagrown needed a brand that would connect with both b2c and b2b audiences. The challenge was to create a brand that struck the right balance. Offering a feel-good appeal for consumers while delivering the gravitas needed to engage with industry.

OUR ANSWER

How can you embody so much ambition into one brand? You keep it simple. We distilled the brand down to truths relevant to Seagrown’s audiences: sustainability, clean, natural and growth – with growth being the key theme. We weaved these concepts throughout the brand look and feel, supporting the strapline, ‘Wild ocean farming’, which encapsulates Seagrown’s bold vision and mission.

REFINED MESSAGING AND NATURAL LINES

The brand look and feel is brought to life through simple, refined messaging, natural lines and beautiful ocean photography. Supported by a website that tells the story of a naturally-grown product with huge environmental benefits. Flowing through to packaging design which is deliberately organic and high-end.

THE IMPACT

Since brand launch, Seagrown has secured over £500,000 funding and is continuing to make waves, attract investors and win awards. Education is also key to Seagrown. We are currently helping the team in the development of a visitors’ centre based on the ship, Southern Star, (case study here) which will help Seagrown educate the public about the environment and their mission.
