OPEN UNIVERSITY
EDIEF REPORT

FOCUS ON THE FUTURE

On completion of a national pilot scheme carried out by academics from the Open University – the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Engagement Fellowship – the Arts and Humanities Research Council commissioned a report to identify inequalities and barriers to participation and to make recommendations for future iterations of the Fellowship. The report aims to help shape the next round of EDIEF funding, helping funding bodies to understand how best to support impact-focussed ED&I work in the future.

OUR BRIEF

Our task was to design and produce a beautiful piece of print from the detailed 60,000 word report. Something that would create the maximum impact and engagement with academics, public bodies and individuals whilst adhering to Clear Print accessibility standards.

OUR ANSWER

The look and feel was created from scratch, using bright pastel colours to convey the themes of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. Case studies, photography and infographics were employed to break-up the text, differentiate the many sections and clearly set out the key findings and statistics throughout the report.

Printed on an uncoated stock with excellent environmental credentials by our print partners Park Lane Press, the report feels important and compelling, befitting its content.

THE IMPACT

The culmination of years of work, this printed report is a physical document that the team of academics at the Open University are proud to launch this Summer and take forward as a blueprint for EDIEF in the future.

It will help the team to raise awareness of ED&I, and gives them a tool with which to approach peers within the Open University, as well as external organisations and funding bodies.

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID

“Having been extremely impressed by their work with the University of Bristol we approached Carruthers Tanner to help us present our EDIEF report and they surpassed all our expectations. We are incredibly proud to launch the report this Summer and are excited to have a tool with which to present our work to others.”
